He said that in the area of benefits payment, “as at March, 2019, we have 21,537 pensioners on our payroll, and total benefits expenditure (pensions, gratuity & Grants) for the period January to March 2019 amounted to Le 47, 99 billion”.

He reemphasized that operations and benefits payment are at the forefront of their business as they are the reason for the establishment of the scheme.

“As a proof of the importance my management attaches to the core operations of the scheme, recently, the Trust Commissioned and handed over fifteen (15) motorbikes to our Inspectors to enhance their mobility in carrying out their duties. We have also provided training for these Inspectors in their areas of operations, including social security compliance. It is our conviction that if the Trust is to succeed in achieving its man date of registering members, collecting contributions, enforcing compliance, and paying benefit, the staff must be armed with both the requisite skills, knowledge and equipment to carry out their duties” Fuad Dabor said.

He also spoke about the launching of the telephone hotlines for customers. “These hotlines, which are available via both Orange and Africell networks, are aimed at providing an opportunity for members of the public to easily contact the Trust with their concerns, queries and suggestions. I want to report to this august body that the telephone hotlines are huge success. Today, our customers and even the general public are easily and conveniently accessing our services at the con fort of their places,” he said.

The director general said, “In the last press briefing, I also spoke about the Trust’s moves to establish a regional office in Poto Loko, which is the headquarters of the northwest region. By way of update, we are putting finishing touches to the rented premises, and very soon, you will all be invited to the opening ceremony of the Northwest Regional Office. As I indicated earlier, our presence to service this region means we are not only taking our services closer to our customers but also to replicate what has been done in other regions.”
